The Company was originally incorporated by Shri Pankajbhai Patel as River Front Hotels Private Limited in the year 1991 for the purpose of establishing a double storied revolving restaurant, one to rotate in clockwise direction and other into anti-clockwise direction with accommodation facilities spread in 32 rooms with dining area and having four star category amenities on the bank of river “Tapi” and since, the river falls on the front of the hotel, it was named “River Front Hotels Limited”. Subsequently, the Company converted into Public Company in the year 1995 and the name was changed to River Front Hotels Limited. The Company listed on Ahmedabad stock Exchange Ltd, Vadodara Stock Exchange Ltd and Delhi Stock Exchange Ltd.

Later on the Company was taken over by Shri Farukh Valibhai Poonawala, an entrepreneur, exclusively involved in the hotel business and has grown to have a hotel, as projected – revolving restaurant in near future.

The operations of the company are headed by Shri Farukh Valibhai Poonawala, Managing Director of the company & he is associated with the company since year 1997.  He along with other directors maintains a close hand on the operations.  His wife, Smt. Fatima Farukh Poonawala, his daughter, Dr. Sana Farukh Poonawala and his son Mr. Faiz Ahmed Farukh Poonawala, are directors of the company.

Currently, the company has started coffee shop at ground floor of the hotel building which offers variety of choices to the customers, viz. Cappuccinos, lattes, espressos, smoothies, regular coffee, soft drinks, tea of all sorts and other snacks. 

In near future, the Company will have full fledged operations very soon and will be one of the best Revolving Hotels in Surat.
